Performance and Genetic Evaluation of Some Cauliflower Genotypes in Dry Temperate Ladakh Region of India

Nature has endowed India with many precious gifts, wherein lies its immense potential for the vegetable sector. In dry temperate region of like Ladakh, cauliflower is grown during summer months. Extreme environmental fluctutaions make cultivation not an easy venture. Cauliflower thermo-sensitive crop and identification proper group as well genotype in a particular climate utmost importance. Six genotypes were tried Randomized Block Design 4 replications geometry 45 x cm objective to select maturity Ladakh condition study genetic parameters further breeding procedures. Results indicated that there are significant differences among all cultivars characters except stalk length, number leaves plant leaf length. Sweta recorded highest gross weight, net curd weight yield per ha which superior others cultivars. GCV PCV heritability advance expressed percentage mean higher hectare. Selection on phenotypic performance could be effective improvement these traits.
